Joseph Maggs’s article “Licence revocation quashed in Moon Fish but reporting duties still stringent” published on Free Movement

Joseph Maggs’s new article on procedural fairness in the context of sponsor licence revocations has been published on Free Movement.

The article considers R (Moon Fish Ltd) v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2026] EWHC 2289 (Admin), in which the High Court ruled that reliance on a mandatory ground for revoking a sponsor licence does not displace the Home Secretary’s common law duty of procedural fairness, even where no dishonesty or reprehensible conduct is alleged.

The article will be of assistance to anyone advising sponsor licence holders or handling compliance action.
