Private law disputes about children’s welfare
One Pump Court’s Family Team has a wealth of experience in representing parents in disputes about their children. Our members regularly appear in complex cases and act for other parties, including children (through their Guardian), step-parents and grandparents.
Members have in-depth experience of all aspects of private children law, including:
- Child arrangements orders.
- Specific issues orders, such as internal relocation, education and holidays abroad.
- Prohibited steps orders, such as orders preventing parents from leaving the jurisdiction.
- Cases in which a party is making allegations of domestic abuse.
- Cases in which the child/children are reluctant to have contact with one of their parents
- Representation of a child through a court appointed (rule 16.4) guardian.
Our members regularly represent vulnerable clients and are known for their sensitive approach and fearless advocacy.
Many of the Family Team practise in other areas, such as immigration, housing and crime. As a result, our members are well-placed to advise clients where interdisciplinary issues arise in family proceedings.
