International child abduction

One Pump Court’s Family Team are well placed to advise and assist in cases with an international element. Our members regularly act in international children matters, including:

  • International child abduction cases, both under the Hague
  • Convention and in respect of non-Hague countries.
  • Applications for leave to remove a child permanently or temporarily from the UK.
  • International contact issues.
  • Overseas adoption/registration of overseas adoptions.
  • Emergency injunctions to prevent abduction.

Our clerks are available around the clock, and members can respond to urgent cases where there is a risk of abduction. Members are able to provide swift and comprehensive advice from the outset ensuring that wherever possible emotional damage to the subject child(ren) is averted.
