Jamie Presland recently led Manjeet Kaler in complex care proceedings, representing the mother of six children

Jamie Presland recently led Manjeet Kaler in complex care proceedings, representing the mother of six children whose eldest daughter was found to have been repeatedly sexually abused by her partner and father of four younger children.

In a 14-day fact-finding hearing, the mother was also found not to have protected the daughter after the allegations and to have maintained her relationship with the abuser.

After a further four-day welfare hearing, involving psychological risk assessments and detailed analysis of mobile phone location evidence, the mother was found to have continued a relationship with the father and so to be unable to protect their new baby.

The eldest son left care at 18. All the older children were placed in the wider maternal family.

Jamie and Manjeet were instructed by Denise Hoilette of Duncan Lewis.
