Gordana Balac awarded scholarship to attend Advanced Trial Advocacy course in Florida

Gordana Balać was one of four successful applicants awarded a scholarship from the South Eastern Circuit to attend the Florida Bar Trial Lawyers Section ‘Advanced Trial Advocacy’ programme, which took place in Miami, Florida.

The course took place at St Thomas University College of Law, and centred on a personal injury case where advocates were instructed to prepare all aspects of the trial, including opening and closing statements, and to conduct direct and cross-examination of lay and expert witnesses.

Alongside the course real jurors from the local Miami community were selected as jury members for the case, giving advocates the opportunity to observe both jury selection and deliberation in real time.
