Tamara also collaborated with other NGO and civil society actors to produce the ICCPR human rights report which was presented to the United Nations Human Rights Committee Geneva, Switzerland session for review of the  Government of Jamaica’s human rights record 2011.

In her role as Senior Legal Counselling, Tamara represented families who were the victims of extra-judicial killings at the hands of state agents – namely the police force and army. In this role she travelled the island and conducted human rights workshops in urban and rural communities affected adversely by police and army extrajudicial violence. The workshops discussed human rights, and rights in relation to the communities interaction with police and army.  Tamara also represented families of individuals killed by police and army at Coroners Courts across Jamaica.

Tamara was a guest panel speaker, and invitee of the British High Commission in Jamaica on the issue of Constitutional Reform and conducted a weekly human rights radio show on rights and responsibilities. The radio show was based in an inner city community in Kingston, Jamaica.

She remained in Jamaica following her role as Senior Legal Counsel and worked in a freelance capacity in Jamaica and Turks and Caicos.

She is committed to practice in Turks and Caicos Islands and continues to have a good relationship with lawyers there, having worked for Misick and Stanbrook Barristers and Attorneys one of the notable firms on the island.

Tamara is an accomplished barrister with a strong focus on Care Proceedings, Deprivation of Liberty (DOL), and Non-Accidental Injury (NAI) cases. With extensive experience in representing clients facing complex and sensitive legal challenges, Tamara brings a wealth of knowledge to her practice.
