Domestic abuse and emergency remedies
Members of One Pump Court have extensive experience representing individuals seeking protection from domestic abuse, honour based abuse and harmful practises. We are established as a preferred set for many firms and charities specialising in these and ancillary areas of law.
Our members were instructed on the judicial review into the first Domestic Violence Homicide review; they have authored books and articles and have held academic posts specialising in the court’s approach to domestic abuse. Our members have been instructed on public enquiries into deaths of children. They were involved in some of the earliest cases under the Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act 2007 and were involved in the campaign to create Female Genital Mutilation Protection Orders which finally became law in 2015. More recently, members have been at the forefront of the development of the law relating to the radicalisation of children as well as advocating and highlighting the concept of adultification of children
The interdisciplinary nature of chambers allows for a uniquely co-ordinated and multi-disciplinary approach to representation of clients who are often very vulnerable or marginalised in our society and communities.
