Parosha Chandran honoured with BRISLA Outstanding Achievement in Academia Award

One Pump Court’s Parosha Chandran received the Outstanding Achievement in Academia Award from The British Sri Lankan Association on 19 October at the BRISLA Awards 2019 in Westminster.
The event aims to bring together the best minds and most passionate individuals who will play a role in promoting unity and celebrating diversity, and Parosha’s award reflects her contribution to law and academia, which  culminated in her appointment as the country’s first Professor in Modern Slavery Law at King’s College London.

BRISLA founder and chair Dr Zimar Sivardeen, who presided over the judging process, said:
“Every award presented on the night acted as a stark reminder to us all that our unified efforts to promote diversity and encourage unity amongst people of all faiths is paramount and indeed, essential.”

Accompanied by friends and family, Parosha was presented with her award by Princess Katarina of Yugoslavia, the wife of the late Desmond De Silva QC.
