Global Talent
The Home Office states that the Global Talent “is for talented and promising individuals in the fields of science, engineering, medicine, humanities, social sciences, digital technology and arts and culture (including film and television, fashion design and architecture) wishing to work in the UK. Applicants will be leaders in their field, or have the potential to be leaders, as determined by a Home Office recognised endorsing body”.
It is open to individuals who are either leaders (exceptional talent) or emerging leaders (exceptional promise) in their field. Applicants must be endorsed by a designated endorsing body relevant to their sector. Unlike many other visa routes, a job offer is not required, giving applicants the freedom to work or start a business.
The endorsing bodies are:
- Tech Nation
- The Royal Society
- The Royal Academy of Engineering
- The British Academy
- Arts Council England
- UK Research and Innovation
