A Practical Guide to Children Law and disclosure in immigration proceedings

26th October 2017

Assessments filed and findings made in family law proceedings are often crucial to the outcome of a child, parent or carer’s immigration application or appeal. For this reason, it is imperative that practitioners have a working knowledge of family law proceedings, including any assessment of a child’s wishes, feelings, needs and best interest; a carer’s parenting capacity; evidential rules; and, the management and timescales of proceedings, both in private and public law proceedings.

This seminar will provide an overview of children law in immigration proceedings with practical tips on disclosure, the use of documents filed in proceedings to the best advantage of clients, in particular in cases involving the Article 8 ECHR rights of children and their families.

Date: 26th October 2017
