A.N. and V.C.L v UK

23rd February 2021

One Pump Court invites you to attend a presentation by Professor Parosha Chandran, on 23rd  February at 5pm where she will discuss the landmark case that has been handed down today by the European Court of Human Rights in  A.N. and V.C.L v UK. Notably the Chamber unanimously found a breach of Articles 4 and 6 ECHR in respect of the failures in the assessment of suspected victims of trafficking who had been subject to criminal prosecution. One issue for the Court to decide related to the operational duty under Article 4 ECHR, and whether, in prosecuting AN and VCL, the UK failed in its duty to protect victims of trafficking.
