The 23rd edition of the Prison Handbook now been published

The 23rd edition of the Prison Handbook has now been published by Prisons.Org.UK and is available for purchase at https://prisons.org.uk/publications/

Section 4 of the handbook contains an A-Z Legal Index which has been updated by Angelina Nicolaou, Grace Cowell and Daniel Grütters of the One Pump Court Prison Law Team.

The Prisons Handbook has been described as a “tour-de-force through current penal policy and practice” and “an incredible reference book on prisons”. This edition is dedicated to Dr Mary Louise Gordon, the first female Prisons Inspector who was appointed in 1908. Dr Gordon supported a rehabilitative approach in prisons to combat high rates of recidivism in female prisoners.
