Daniel Grütters awarded the Young Pro Bono Barrister of the Year

One Pump Court is pleased to announce that Daniel Grütters has been awarded the Young Pro Bono Barrister of the Year at the Annual Bar and Young Bar Conference 2021.

Daniel was shortlisted on the basis of his significant pro bono work, including being: “part of legal efforts to seek accountability for victims of the Yazidi genocide, and to prevent the passing of transphobic legislation in Romania. In August of this year, he helped to advise three refugee Afghan families on their entitlement to homelessness assistance, following which they were all able to secure temporary accommodation. Afterwards, he provided training to immigration practitioners on how to assist other Afghan families”

Daniel has a mixed practice in the immigration, housing, and inquest teams at One Pump Court. He frequently undertakes pro bono work representing family members in inquest proceedings.
