Eleanor Sanders successfully represented the Appellant, a gay man from Pakistan, in his asylum appeal. The appeal was allowed in the Upper Tribunal following a settlement in the Court of Appeal.

The appeal was dismissed in the First-Tier Tribunal, and the Upper Tribunal refused permission to appeal. This was successfully challenged in the High Court, but then the Upper Tribunal again refused the appeal. Eleanor drafted grounds of appeal to the Court of Appeal on points of law relating to LGBT asylum claims and concealment of sexuality, and permission was granted. By consent, the case was returned to the Upper Tribunal, where it succeeded.
