Margo Munro Kerr acted for a young man sentenced to a 2 year community order following conviction for theft and taking a vehicle without consent. He appealed with leave of the single judge against sentence on the basis that, given time spent on remand, the imposition of further restrictive or punitive elements was manifestly excessive. A 12 month conditional discharge was substituted.
