Grace Cowell and Kitan Ososami make a successful submission of no case to answer in protest trial

Grace Cowell and Kitan Ososami represented two defendants charged with failing to comply with s.14 Public Order Act conditions.

S.14 conditions were imposed on a protest organised by Workers for a Free Palestine as it was believed that the protest was causing ‘serious disruption’ to the community, namely a road in central London leading to key government departments.

A superintendent and police constables were cross-examined on the lawfulness of the conditions and individual arrests.

Following a half-time submission of no case to answer, the District Judge acquitted all defendants. Grace and Kitan’s clients retain their good character.

Zachary Whyte of Sperrin Law co-defended with and instructed Grace and Kitan.
